Attached below are certain photos and newspaper clippings showcasing his achievement
Amrutha Varshini Vidyalaya, Kumarapatnam, won the Orange prize and was declared among the top 20 schools across the district of Haveri in embracing nature in its environs.
Across 1495 schools in the district, our school was one among the 20 schools that were declared environment friendly. As a measure of environment friendliness, the Pollution Control Board (PCB, Haveri) had asked each school to submit a self assessment across 6 topics namely
back in the month of January. This was followed by a team of experts from the PCB who visited each of the schools who had submitted the self assessments to grade them. At the school level, a team of 10 student representatives and 2 teachers was formed to take the lead in conceiving and implementing nature conservation projects. Named 'Akash Ganga', it was under the banner of this team that we undertook the Tungabhadra River Bank cleaning project. Smt. Katyayani Rao, one of the trustees and an ardent environment lover, is guiding the team. |
