Yet another year has come to an end. The start of the New Year has ushered in new hope, confidence to achieve more and the curiosity to seek out new things to learn. The school, the students studying here and the people who run the show – the teaching staff, support staff and the management have been instrumental in ensuring we have left an indelible mark on the year that flew by.
New improved ways of imparting education to students, using digital methods to test students’ grasp of concepts, everyday experiments during the assembly to kindle an innate interest in science, daily news bulletins read out by students to ensure students keep abreast of societal developments, new craft ideas that sparked creativity, a new badminton court and skating rink were all ways in which the school scaled new heights in imparting education.
We also made headlines at the district level with kids from upper classes bagging first prize in Fancy Dress and Story Telling competitions at the Pratibha Karanji competition held by the State Education Department.
Social responsibility was incorporated into the kids’ minds in a big way with the Clean-up campaigns that were undertaken as part of the Swacch Bharat Andolan. The importance of surroundings and how one can do his little bit to help keep our society clean and tidy was impressed upon the young minds.
Along with the one day picnics for children of class 5 and below, a special 3 day educational trip was organised for students of class 6 and 7. Covering the geologically significant St Mary’s islands in Udupi, the Pilikula National Park and Science Regional Centre near Mangalore, the trip served as an emphasis on concepts covered throughout the year in the classroom.
As we step into the next year, the rich experiences, the learning from the last year will help us strive ever harder to take the school to greater heights.
Today, we celebrate Founder’s Day. A day where we re-dedicate ourselves to the ideals for which the school was founded by our Chairman P K Prakash Rao. Imparting quality education with the child at the centre of everything we plan and execute. Today’s kids will carry the country ahead tomorrow and we as teachers should leave no stone unturned in ensuring they are well prepared to shoulder that burden well.
A special note of thanks for all the parents who have extended their support and have been appreciative of the efforts being put in to make Amrutha Varshini Vidyalaya a model school.
Wishing all parents and guardians a Happy New Year!!
Thanks !
